Checklist before the trip
- Check passport validity and visas – take photocopies of these
- Are your vaccinations up-to-date? It is good to plan your vaccinations at least few months before the trip
- Find your vaccination card
- Take a travel insurance
- Replenish and check all the medications you might need during the trip
- Pack all your necessary medicines for the duration of the trip and also for two weeks beyond the planned travel time, also bring prescriptions along
- Always pack the medicines you need in hand luggage for the duration of the travel
- Medicines to take along:
- Antihistamine
- Temporary filling material for split tooth, Cavit
- Mild cortisone cream for insect stings
- Sunscreen
- Travel nausea medication
- Runny nose drops – it is advisable to take them on the plane and, if necessary, use them about an hour before landing if there is a problem with ear pain or blocking in the aircraft
- Bandages, blister band-aids, regular band aids, scissors
- Antidiarrheal medication
- Fever and pain medication
- Thermometer
- Hand sanitizer
- Tampons, sanitary napkins, condoms
- If necessary, pack mosquito sprays and netting
- Tell someone close to you about your travel plans so that in case of an emergency they know where you are and how to reach you!
